The Shinto Dining Chair was designed as an ode to the traditional Japanese Torii Gate found at the entrances of Shinto shrines. The chair invites you to pause, find peace in the moment and come together with friends and family around the dining table.

The persimmon colored leather was inspired by the 13th century art of "Kakishibu," a traditional Japanese dying technique that pulls color from the tannins in fermented persimmons. 

A quarter inch thick leather wraps a hand-crafted frame. Enjoy the piece as its leather seat patinas with age and molds to the wood frame over time, just like the vintage pieces you love.
The thick leather, along with the handcrafted frame and a curved backrest, offer exceptional comfort and an eye-catching sense of style.

We use high-quality, full-grain vintage leather that is not treated with synthetic finishes. This allows the natural oils from your body to create a unique patina over time, sealing the leather in its own beautiful way. The look and feel of this slow forming patina cannot be replicated with synthetic finishes.

    Beautiful accent piece for any space!

    I bought this chair to add something stylish to my office space. We ended up using it in many of our photoshoots, and I'm so in love with it that I'm taking it home!

    This chair is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. It sits very comfortably for long dinners. The leather is exquisite. Took a long time to ship which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars :(
